I immediately fell in love with the school. The angelic Christmas carols the choir sang, the gracious Queen’s Council girls, the beautiful campus – I knew that this was where I wanted to be. I started carrying an NDA admissions flyer around with me in my binder, to remind myself what I was working towards.
I did visit and apply to other high schools when the time came, but when people asked me why I wanted so badly to attend NDA, I could never really come up with a solid answer, and I still can’t to a certain extent. I just felt connected to it, and I would definitely tell anyone who feels a similar draw to come here that they should pursue it.
It definitely takes some time to get used to high school, and during my first couple months at NDA, I often wondered if I had made the right decision. Looking back, I am completely confident that I did. The opportunities I’ve had and will have at NDA aren’t things I could’ve had anywhere else. I’ve performed in drama festivals, traveled, laughed and cried with my classmates, and made the most amazing friends. Plus, going to a school where girls lead absolutely everything is incredibly inspiring. Not a day goes by where I am not astounded and proud of what I see NDA girls achieving. I will always be grateful for my NDA education.
